As in Prisons, I had planned on including newspaper articles, online news articles, etc. But because of the pandemic it wasn't going to work with the dates.  I only included one article at the start of the book without a date, to set it all up.  But I had two others written that didn't make the cut.

I have included them here along with Duncan Bullock's final letter to his wife.

The following is an excerpt of an article that appeared on the front page of The Hollywood Ledger.

Queen B’s Bombshell Dooms Network Head
By Graham Lacey

Unless you’re living under a rock, or your some sort of monk or Sherpa in Tibet, you know about the explosive last “episode,” (for lack of a better term) of the “Kidnap Chronicles,” as they’ve been dubbed. It was expected that Sergeant, Duncan Bullock was prepared to sentence the two women, whom he blamed for the death of his daughter, back in September.
But instead of going silently into her sentencing, Becca Dodge, aka, Queen B, Number One, jumped from her seat and told her captor that not only was his idyllic views of fathers and daughters a load of crap, but that her own father pimped her out to one Derek McGregor, longtime network front-man, and one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. It was a repeated offense that got her father moved up the food-chain quickly, but also caused him to take his own life in shame and regret.
The sincerity of her claim is hardly in doubt, as her reaction was one for the ages. She released decades of pent-up fury over the incident all over Duncan Bullock’s face.
To his credit, (I can’t believe I just said that but…) Bullock never raised a finger. This is the man who has sent everyone else who has come across him to the hospital (or worse if you’re a terrorist).  He took the five-star beating the tortured women was meting out.
But what is even more surprising is the avalanche of women who have since joined the bandwagon. Following the Becca Dodge Atom Bomb, twenty-two other women immediately came forward with allegations of sexual impropriety by the former big boss.
McGregor has put out a notice that he is stepping down from his position and plans to seek private resolution to his current legal issues. (And might I suggest some strong psychiatric help on how to stop being a sick, perverted, piece of crap!)

The following is the teleprompter copy from Global Information Networks, “Today’s Headlines” broadcast, on October 25, 20xx.

Duncan Bullock has been shopping, unfortunately for three southern California teens. The man who has kidnapped Brooke Winthrop and Becca Dodge, the host and producer of the wildly popular show “I Do or I Don’t” needed three more cameras for his web vendetta show, this after Becca Dodge destroyed the cameras he did have in an angry rage.
Bullock was spotted in a Target store by Jason Seevers, Javier Garcia, and Omar Kardin, three football players from San Dulcinte High School. Thinking they would be helping matters by trying to stop the man, they attacked him with baseball bats, this according to witnesses on the scene. Bullock managed to fend off the attack and inflict great bodily harm on the youths. All three boys are recuperating in the hospital, Jason Seevers is in critical condition.
Duncan Bullock managed to evade police and escape the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for any information on the whereabouts of Bullock and the location of his makeshift studio where he is currently holding Winthrop, Dodge, and several other crew members from “I Do or I Don’t.” They are asking , if you spot Bullock, call the police immediately. Do not attempt to detain Bullock on your own. He is considered an extremely dangerous individual.

The following is the note written by Sergeant Duncan Bullock, to his wife, Corrine Simon Bullock, on October 26.  It was entered into evidence on October 28.

My Dearest Corrine,
For whatever reason, as hard as we tried to live right, we never seemed to be able to navigate clear of tragedy and heartache.
When we lost Daniel I thought it was the end of me, the end of us. But you reached into the deep dark pit I sunk into and pulled me back to the sunshine, to the air. You brought life back into my heart and helped me see there could still be a future.
But then when we lost Kristine, I didn’t just sink, I dove into the pit, this time too far for you to reach. I regret that. I’m so sorry I didn’t give you the chance. I should have relied on your strength again. But this time I thought I could make a difference. If I could make the people pay for the wrongs they did, then I would have done something for Kristine. Perhaps somehow she could look down on me and say “thanks, dad.”
But all I’ve found in pursuing this is more darkness. And all I want to do right now is wrap myself up in your arms and wrap my arms around you and be still.
Instead, I’ve set things in such motion there is only one possible outcome.

Know that I love you Corrine. You were the one bright spot in this whole rotten world.
